Andrea is an accomplished writer, journalist, author, and public relations professional. Her debut non-fiction book Geek Girls Don’t Cry: Real-Life Lessons From Fictional Female Characters from Sterling Books is out now in bookstores everywhere.

Currently, Andrea works as an Associate Editor for Nerdist. Her resume includes experience at some of the world’s biggest and most influential brands, including Marvel Entertainment and Entertainment Weekly. At Marvel, her primary role was to provide PR outreach and communications management for Marvel's robust line of comic book titles. At Entertainment Weekly, she served as an assistant editor and writer with a focus on “geek” culture and female-led media. As a freelance writer, she has written for Variety, Paste Magazine, Mashable, Bustle, Image+ and more. She also regularly writes celebrity cover story features for CVLUX, a California based luxury magazine.

Andrea holds a Masters of Science from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a Bachelors of Arts in English and Communications from The George Washington University. Her career highlights include being offered a cashew by Mike Colter during a Defenders video interview, commiserating over T.G.I.F. days with Cobie Smulders, getting James McAvoy to curse in traffic, and interviewing the legendary Stan Lee on three separate occasions.

She lives in New York City with her husband, three coffee makers, and pop culture shrine to her favorite character in the world, Black Widow. When she’s not writing, she can be found playing Dungeons and Dragons, running half marathons, or watching Broadway musicals.
